Since its conception, Beautiful/Decay has made it it's mission to support emerging and established artists through our publication. We have developed our following by internationally distributing a high quality product to everything from the largest chains to the most selective boutiques. With the growing popularity of the Beautiful/Decay brand we decided to launch a T-shirt line featuring solely artists we have featured in the magazine. We are using 100% cotton, 36 Needle Knit, custom cut bodies which will ensure a high quality product that the fans of Beautiful/Decay are accustomed to.
This Aya Kato design features a cowering yet deadly ninja-geisha retreating behind her fan/umbrella and protected by her pet dragon which bleeds off the bottom of the shirt.

With a visual aesthetic ranging from anime and manga, to the French art nouveau movement and traditional Japanese scroll art, Aya Kato transforms a common fairytale or love story into a passionate and vivid art piece. As a young, blossoming artist from Japan, Aya had her first cover feature in Beautiful/Decay, was commissioned to produce window displays for Chubu Electric Power Co., and was involved in the creative design of Tori Amos s music video; Sleeping with Butterflies. Aya believes, If you dream it, it will come.
