Description
Upon his exit from Whitesnake, John Sykes was looking to form a new project in which he could express his own musical vision instead of playing what he was told to. Recruiting drumming legend Carmine Appice (Cactus, Ted Nugent, King Kobra) and bassist Tony "The Fretless Monster" Franklin (The Firm, Don Dokken) with Sykes handling guitar and vocals himself, Blue Murder was exactly the sound that he was looking to create.
Although it never achieved much mainstream commerical success, the self-titled 1990 release would go on to become a cult favorite in the hard rock community and earned many accolades from various publications, topping many reviewer's "Best Of" annual lists.
